Executive Director

        Peter M. Abramo, Ph.D., is the initial Executive Director for the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies. He began his duties in the summer of 2004, one year before the doors opened on the new CETES facilities on the Cameron University campus. Since that time, Dr. Abramo has been responsible for turning the concept of this economic development program into reality.

        Dr. Abramo came to CETES from the pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. He was the Executive Director of a specialty pharmaceutical and marketing company headquartered in New Jersey. In that role he was involved with product acquisition, marketing strategy, business development, product forecasting, product performance measurement and sales force analytics. In addition, his broad experience includes selling and conducting marketing strategy and research for international companies such as Pfizer, Novartis, Glaxo SmithKline, Eli Lilly, Astra Merck, Johnson and Johnson, Amgen and many others.

        Dr. Abramo is a creative and innovative leader who has written numerous articles and co-authored two books on marketing in the creative economy.  He has a strong interest in internet technologies and their application to businesses and higher education.  He is a speaker at conferences and training seminars across the United States.

        Dr. Abramo holds a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s from Villanova University and a Ph.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Southwest Oklahoma Impact Coalition, vice-chair of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Economic Development Council, and director on the South Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board. Additional memberships include the Oklahoma Business Incubator Association, Oklahoma Venture Forum, Oklahoma Professional Economic Development Council, and the National Business Incubator Association.
