Since the basic purpose of Tech Night is to offer techies and the community a platform to network and discuss issues of common interest, this month will be a open forum to discuss any topic you may find interesting.

Social Media has exploded on the internet and into the world as a new method of communication that carries great weight and power behind it.  But what exactly IS social media?  Who is “twittering” or “facebooking” and why?  Why is this important with regard to emerging technologies, and how could this be helpful in the realm of developing a business in this day and age?  Greg Davies, ITS Help Desk Coordinator from Cameron University, Podcaster, and Social Media enthusiast explains the relevance of new media as we enter a new decade.
